What the next take box does

When the prompt box is open, Preview shows the next take box on the canvas. This box marks the exact place where your next generated image or video will appear.

Move the next generation target

You can click and drag the next take box anywhere on the canvas. The next generated asset appears at that location, which makes it easier to keep related work together instead of scattering new takes across the scene.

Find it again when the canvas is crowded

If the canvas is too full to show the full box clearly, Preview shows a Next Take pill near the center of the canvas. That pill includes a compass that points toward the real location of the next take box.
  • Open the prompt box.
  • Look for the Next Take pill.
  • Follow the compass direction or click the pill to jump to the box.

Create a group from the next take box

The icon in the upper-left corner of the next take box lets you create a group at that location. This is useful when you already know that a batch of generations should belong together.
Move the next take box before you generate a batch. It is much easier to place outputs correctly from the start than to reorganize a crowded canvas later.
